    • ​​​Provide education for Samburu women to enable them to develop a family business and to meet their children’s schooling needs.
    • Empowerment of Samburu women
  • Direct beneficiaries (2020-2022) : 200 Samburu women
  • Total budget (2020-2022): 15.017,38 €

  • Direct beneficiaries: Women from Samburu communities from the villages of Nkutuk Lmuget (from 16 km de Lodung’okue) and Nonkek (from 10 km).

Solar water pump for the education center

  • Location: Barsaloi
  • Year: 2020
  • Objectives:
    • Purchase of a solar water pump to ensure the provision of drinkable water to the education center in Barsaloi.​
  • Direct benefitiaries: Users of the education center

Sewing training project for women in Opiroï community

  • Location: Opiroï
  • Year: 2020
  • Objectives:
    • Promote, in a sustainable way, the empowerment of 22 women by providing them with comprehensive training in clothe making
    • Once trained, these women train other women who will then be integrated into the project

Construction of housing for training sessions for development project agents

  • Location: Tuum
  • Year: 2019
  • Objectives:
    • Allow the inhabitants of Tuum and the surrounding villages to participate in long term training sessions (literacy, development management, etc.) for women and young villagers, in the Leaders Center built by GAM in 2014.
    • The aim of the project is to have a suitable place for housing for those who offer training and those who receive it, as well as to have a place of reception for representatives of organizations that support development actions in the community.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 560 people: 50 children (7 to 13 years old), 80 young people (13-18 years), 400 adults, 30 people (Samburu Language Translation and Study Committee)
  • Total budget: 54.485 €
  • GAM funds: 15.000 €

Support for the Samburu Women's Training Centre

  • Location: Opiroï
  • Year: 2017
  • Objectives:
    • Completion of the Samburu Women's Training Centre.
    • Training of Samburu women in different fields, such as sewing, agriculture, hand crafting, etc.
    • Complete the structure of the training center: septic tank, pipes, water tank, glass for windows, floor slab, etc.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 300 Samburu women
  • Total budget: 7.000 €
  • GAM funds: 2.300 €

Ad-hoc support of GAM asbl to students

  • ​​Location: various places
  • Year: 2017
  • Objectives:
    • In addition to the annual projects, GAM asbl offers support to initiatives that are in line with the general objectives of the organization. These initiatives can arise during field visits, during a meeting or be organized by GAM asbl.
    • Support for two students engaged in nursing studies in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 2 students and schooled children in the Tuum region

Training Center for Leaders of Village Groups

  • ​Location: Tuum
  • Year: 2014
  • Objectives:
    • Support training programs for community leaders (livestock, agriculture) for better social development. The training program was aimed at potential leaders who were identified according to their abilities and charisma by leaders and members of family groups as well as by the community and local human promotion agents.
    • To train leaders of a certain modern social framework at Tuum, with the firm conviction that local development must concern them all and come from the communities themselves.
    • Have an adequate place to house those who provide training and those who receive it.
    • To have a place of reception for representatives of organizations that support development actions in the community.
    • Have an adequate infrastructure to train potential leaders of the region (and men and women occasionally) and for the work that will be developed by the Tuum Training Center.

Leaders Educational Center

  • Location: Barsaloi
  • Year: 2010
  • Objectives:
    • Construction of a training centre for leaders of village groups and construction and equipment (furniture and materials) of a suitable place for the housing of those who give the training and those who receive it.
    • To have a place of reception for representatives of organizations that have supported development actions in the community.
    • To have an adequate infrastructure to train potential leaders of the region (and men and women occasionally) and for the works that were subsequently developed by the Cultural Center of the local ethnic group Samburu.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 360 people: 50 children (7 – 13 years old), 80 youngsters (13 – 18 years old), 200 adults (helpers, committee members, teachers, leaders), 30 people from the Translation and Study Committee of the Samburu language.
  • Total budget: 45.000 €  
  • GAM funds: 29.000 €
