    • To provide Samburu women with spaces for human formation, empowerment and community growth, enabling them to organise themselves socially, show solidarity and initiate entrepreneurial projects that not only help them to finance themselves, but also to understand their important place in Samburu society.

    • ​​​Equipping and repairing the facilities of the community multi-purpose hall for training and human promotion sessions, as well as to facilitate meetings of the local communities

  • Objectives: 
    • To provide the Tuum training centre with the necessary technical equipment so that both the local population and people from more remote areas can benefit effectively and efficiently from the training sessions. This will therefore increase the number of beneficiaries.
    • ​To promote the empowerment of the Samburu and Turkana communities, as well as their financial independence, through the establishment of new economic activities.
    • To increase knowledge and the adoption of sustainable techniques and practices.
    • To organise specific training courses for young people.
    • To promote the empowerment of women in a patriarchal society.
    • To encourage the participation of young professionals in training sessions to foster a more structured and egalitarian society.

'Literacy programme for Samburu women'

    • To provide women of the Samburu people with an education that will enable them to develop a family business and thus provide for the needs of their children.

'Sewing training project for women in Opiroï community'

  • Location: Opiroï

    • To promote, in a sustainable way, the empowerment of 22 women by providing them with comprehensive training in clothe making.
    • Once trained, these women train other women who will then be integrated into the project.

'Construction of housing for training sessions for development project agents'

  • Location: Tuum
  • Year: 2019
  • Objectives:
    • To allow the inhabitants of Tuum and the surrounding villages to participate in long term training sessions (literacy, development management, etc.) for women and young villagers, in the Leaders Center built by GAM in 2014.
    • The aim of the project is to have a suitable place for housing for those who offer training and those who receive it, as well as to have a place of reception for representatives of organizations that support development actions in the community.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 560 people, including 50 children (7 to 13 years old), 80 young people (13-18 years), 400 adults, 30 people (Samburu Language Translation and Study Committee)
  • Total project budget: 54,485 €

    • Support for two students engaged in nursing studies in Nairobi, Kenya.

'Training centre for leaders of village groups'

  • ​Location: Tuum
  • Year: 2014
  • Objectives:
    • To support training programs for community leaders (livestock, agriculture) for better social development. The training program was aimed at potential leaders who were identified according to their abilities and charisma by leaders and members of family groups as well as by the community and local human promotion agents.
    • To train leaders of a certain modern social framework at Tuum, with the firm conviction that local development must concern them all and come from the communities themselves.
    • To have an adequate place to house those who provide training and those who receive it.
    • To have a place of reception for representatives of organizations that support development actions in the community.
    • To have an adequate infrastructure to train potential leaders of the region (and men and women occasionally) and for the work that will be developed by the Tuum Training Centre.

    • Construction of a training centre for leaders of village groups and construction and equipment (furniture and materials) of a suitable place for the housing of those who give the training and those who receive it.
    • To have a place of reception for representatives of organisations that have supported development actions in the community.
    • To have an adequate infrastructure to train potential leaders of the region (and men and women occasionally) and for the works that were subsequently developed by the Cultural Centre of the local ethnic group Samburu.
  • Direct beneficiaries: 360 people, including 50 children (7 – 13 years old), 80 youngsters (13 – 18 years old), 200 adults (helpers, committee members, teachers, leaders), 30 people from the Translation and Study Committee of the Samburu language.
