'Water for all: drilling a borehole for drinking water'

'Water tower for the training center'

  • ​Location: Grand Bassam, Vitré
  • Year: 2019
  • Objectives:
    • To build a water tower at the 'Miguel Angel Builes' training center, to guarantee the drinking water during the training sessions and thus to solve the problem of service cuts that are becoming more and more frequent.

'Extension of the Alpha Plus project in Kounahiri with the construction and equipment of a new classroom for women's literacy'

  • Location: Kounahiri
  • Year: 2019
  • Objectives:
    • Construction and fitting out of a new classroom and accommodation for women’s literacy programmes (priority) and for other information sessions for children, young professionals, adults who have not attended school, as well as for women and village community leaders.
    • Training of young professionals and adults who are generally out of school. (Illiteracy affects more than 75% of the population in that region.)
    • Finally, the villagers were included in the national development process.

'Social integration for women and fight against poverty in rural areas'

    • Project for the social integration of women and the fight against poverty in rural areas.
    • Training for women who have received refresher training from livestock specialists since the start of the project.
    • Creating jobs for rural women.
    • Building and fitting out a chicken coop (using sustainable materials).
    • Making chicken products more accessible to the local population.
    • Establishing a chicken market in the department of Kounahiri.

'Training young professionals'

  • Location: Grand Bassam
  • Year: 2018
  • Objectives:
    • To provide opportunities for some young community leaders to access higher education to prepare them to be agents of social transformation in their local communities.
  • Direct beneficiaries: the city and villages that make up the canton of Grand Bassam
  • Total budget: 22,477 €
  • GAM asbl funding: 10,000 € (44%)

'Small community livestock'

  • Location: Grand Bassam, Vitré
  • Year: 2017
  • Objectives:
    • To ensure a regular economic return through small livestock to a group of young people in a difficult situation. They were able to teach what they learned together in Vitré to their families in the village.
    • Standard and adapted construction and equipment of a modern chicken coop for hundred chickens in the village of Vitré: Only a small structured project could guarantee the relationship between producers and livestock services (vitamins, vaccination, nutrition supplements, etc.).
    • To bring jobs to a region where the temptation to migrate to the big city and inactivity are always present amongst young people. Small trade could be done regularly rather than by relying on luck.

'Alpha Plus. Literacy and training project for village leaders'

  • ​Location: Kounahiri
  • Year: 2015
  • Objectives:
    • Construction of a center to support the technical training of women and young people in order to allow an economic take-off in the region of Kounahiri. Literacy in collaboration with the Primary Education Inspectorate and the Ministry of National Education was a priority for the Alpha Plus project. But the project also served as a relay for small technical training courses required for today's life.
    • To fight for economic progress and take charge of officials able to guide their village community in the different aspects of rural life: agriculture, health, water availability, school, market organization and transport.
    • To provide accommodation for trainers/monitors who resided in the villages or were visiting for ad-hoc training. Development of a micro-chicken coop project launched by the women's organization (AFEC) which provided them with a welcome addition (construction and installation of a chicken coop).
    • Rehabilitation of a multi-purpose room for meetings.

'Construction of a water pump'

  • Location: Kounahiri
  • Year: 2014
  • Objectives:
    • Digging of a well and installation of a water pump to supply the training sessions for young leaders programmed by the CLPHK.​
  • Direct beneficiaries: 300 people

'Provision for the training center built in the district of Abobo Avoctier'

  • Location: Abidjan
  • Year: 2011-2012
  • Objectives:
    • This project aims to equip six classrooms built on a land belonging to the parish of Our Lady of Cana. Thanks to GAM asbl and the help of a Spanish benefactor, the project 'Construction of training centers, Ivory Coast (2010)' was satisfactorily concluded.
    • 'Abobo, Avocatier' is a neighborhood where French is generally spoken and where poverty is properly installed. People living in this neighborhood consist mostly of women engaged in commercial activities, who can not read or write.
      Due to this problem, literacy courses are increasing day by day, but unfortunately they don’t have the necessary infrastructures to meet such demand.

'Construction of training centers'

  • Location: Abidjan
  • Year: 2010
  • Objectives:
    • Construction of four rooms for all kinds of trainings in the district of Abobo Avocatier in Abidjan, an area affected by unemployment, prostitution and illiteracy.
    • To strengthen human promotion based on education, health, the promotion of To sustice and peace; hence the idea of making a project to build rooms to receive candidates for education and to remove youth from the street and nightclubs by teaching them a skill.
    • To develop synergy with other stakeholders (NGOs, bilateral or international donors, etc.) while keeping awareness awakening as goal.
