CLÔTURE DE L'ANNÉE 2025 ET PRÉPARATION DU PROGRAMME D'ACTIVITÉS ET DE PROJETS DE GAM EN 2026
Au cours du mois de décembre, les projets GAM 2025 ont été clôturés et leurs dépenses justifiées. Les budgets et les dépenses des événements réalisés ont été mis à jour et le travail de mise à jour de toute la documentation de l'année a également commencé. Celle-ci sera incluse dans le rapport 2025 et pourra être consultée sur le site web de GAM lorsqu'elle sera terminée. Par ailleurs, c'est également en décembre que nous avons commencé à programmer avec enthousiasme les activités de GAM pour 2026 et la gestion des cinq nouveaux projets que l'association lancera à partir de janvier 2026 en Équateur, en Colombie, au Kenya et au Cambodge.

MOIS DE LA SOLIDARITÉ 2025. INITIATIVE DE LA COMMUNE D'ETTERBEEK. 
En 2025, GAM asbl participera au Mois de la Solidarité 2025, une initiative importante organisée et financée par la Commune d'Etterbeek, afin de faire connaître le travail et les résultats des projets que les organisations basées dans cette commune développent en faveur des plus défavorisés. L'activité de GAM asbl est prévue le 9 novembre 2025 et combine une conférence-atelier sur GAM asbl et ses projets, ainsi qu'un stand d'information et de diffusion de l'association. Le thème principal de cette année sera consacré à la promotion d'une alimentation et d'habitudes de vie saines chez les enfants et les adolescents. PROJETS GAM 2026: RÉCEPTION ET ÉVALUATION DES PROPOSITIONS
Le 30 septembre 2025, la date limite pour la soumission des projets de GAM asbl pour 2026 a été clôturée. Quinze propositions ont été reçues. Elles feront l'objet d'une période d'évaluation afin de s'assurer qu'elles sont conformes à la stratégie et aux objectifs de GAM asbl, condition principale pour être sélectionnées. Ils devront ensuite être approuvés par l’Organe d'administration de GAM asbl, qui se réunira fin octobre, avant le Repas Annuel de GAM asbl, au cours duquel les projets GAM 2026 seront officiellement présentés aux bienfaiteurs, bénévoles et sympathisants de l'association. 
Entre-temps, à la fin de l'année 2025, nous espérons recevoir les rapports finaux des sept projets soutenus par le GAM asbl au cours de cette année.

En septembre, nous ouvrirons la période de soumission des projets GAM pour 2026, qui feront l'objet d'une évaluation visant à garantir leur conformité avec la stratégie et les objectifs de GAM asbl. Les projets sélectionnés seront présentés à l’Organe d'Administration de GAM asbl à la fin de l'année pour approbation. Nous assurons également le suivi des projets 2025, dont certains sont déjà terminés. Leurs résultats seront consignés dans le rapport final rédigé par les chefs de projet à la fin de l'année 2025.

We are making progress this year with the Samburu women's education and entrepreneurship project in two communities. In Mugur, the work continues thanks to the service of teacher Ann Lempei, who for several years has been dedicated to teaching these women to read and write. It is not an easy task, as many of them are adults and never attended formal school, so acquiring new skills takes time. However, we want to highlight the responsibility and dedication with which Ann carries out her work, enabling these women to progress in their learning. Classes are held twice a week, with Wednesdays being a special day when the women spend the morning and part of the afternoon together, also sharing lunch provided by the project. Currently, about 15 women participate regularly, with varying levels of progress in relation to our objectives.

We are also carrying out the project in the community of Lpus. There, we have made an important change: we replaced the previous teacher with a young community leader. The new teacher is a young woman with an education, mother of three children, and recently married according to tradition, which gives her greater recognition and leadership within the community. This change has been very positive, as it allows us to accompany the community process more closely. Currently, she teaches four days a week: two in one area of the community and two in another, which allows her to reach more women. There is also greater cohesion among them.

One of the objectives of our project is to offer comprehensive support, not limited to literacy alone. As an organisation, we promote their social and political empowerment so that they can lead their own processes and projects. In Lpus, one of the women's groups has started a small business. On market days, they sell products to raise funds for themselves. Another group manufactures liquid detergent, which they then sell among themselves. In this way, they not only learn to read and write, but also become economically empowered, generating income that supports their families.

The Nonkek community, which has been involved in the project for longer, has already managed to consolidate itself: they have a small savings cooperative, they save together and work in an organised manner. This project aims to be comprehensive, as we care about the complete empowerment of women: not only in terms of education, but also in human, social and economic terms.

In August or November, we hope to hold another meeting with the women in Nairobi, a space they greatly value because of what they learn, the experiences they gain, and because they feel loved and cared for.

Everything is ready for the 9th trip by GAM asbl volunteers, which this year will take place from 5 to 13 August in Cambodia (Kampong Chhnang). A group of 12 GAM volunteers will visit the GAM project in this region, which aims to promote literacy and education among Cambodian children aged between 3 and 15.

This is the first time that GAM volunteers have travelled to Asia. Several meetings are planned with both the children benefiting from the project and their families. We will be following our volunteers' experiences in Cambodia closely and encourage you to follow their journey on GAM's social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.

In 2025, GAM asbl will once again participate in the “Solidarity Month 2025”, an important initiative organised by the Municipality of Etterbeek to raise awareness of the work and results of projects carried out by organisations based in Etterbeek in favour of the most disadvantaged.

GAM's activity is scheduled for 9 November 2025 and combines a workshop on GAM and its projects with an information and dissemination stand of the association.
