About usWe wish to focus our efforts on supporting projects for educating women, promoting health, sustainable agriculture, access to drinking water and providing general training for empowering communities. The Spanish-speaking communities of St. Anthony of Padua and Riches Claires in Brussels have contributed since 2005 to finance certain projects of sustainable development in Africa and Latin America. From these initiatives came the idea to create GAM, a not-for-profit organisation. GAM raised funds for the renovation of a school for an isolated community in the Far North Region of Cameroon in 2008. Two new projects were funded in 2009, namely promoting literacy of and funding of outfits for women in Lare, Ethiopia and providing tools for the establishment of small family farms in Acaricuara, Colombia. In the communities of Barsaloi and Tuum in Kenya, GAM has supported different humanitarian projects, among which are to train leaders in the region. This is how 2 training centers for community leaders have been built between the years 2012 and 2017, of which travel-testimony is being carried out every year. All the volunteers were surprised by the positive impact on the population of these centers, operational even before its completion. The leaders were proud of their success. GAM holds regular events, such as the annual summer barbecue and the "General Assembly" in November, which allows its friends and supporters to remain informed of its activities. Moreover, GAM publishes a Newsletter with the latest information on its website: www.gam-asbl.com. GAM members have regular meetings to plan its activities and maintain contacts with other development organisations. Vertical Divider
