GAM, September and Brussels

For some people, September is the start of a new year. Schools, universities, associations and life in general resume their activities after the summer break.

In Brussels, as far as school life is concerned, there are three different school calendars: the calendar of the French-speaking school system, the calendar of the European schools and the calendar of the Dutch school system. Not everyone goes on holiday on the same date. This is a system that makes it possible to spread the holidays over time to avoid traffic jams at the airport and on the roads.

GAM asbl is based in the cosmopolitan municipality of Etterbeek, which has no less than 42,000 inhabitants and 162 nationalities.

In September we started preparing the ‘Autumn of Solidarity’ (20 October - 5 December 2024) together with the municipality of Etterbeek. This initiative, which will be inaugurated on 20 October, brings together all the associations in Etterbeek involved in the development and implementation of solidarity actions and projects, such as GAM asbl.

During these months, we at GAM asbl are preparing to receive, evaluate and present to the GAM asbl Board of Directors, which will be held in November, the projects that will be supported in 2025 thanks to the SOLIDARITY of volunteers, supporters, friends, donors... And why not also thanks to you, who are taking a few minutes to read this newsletter?

The next event of GAM asbl will be the traditional Annual Dinner, which will take place on November 16th.
